Gorgeous senior on a lake

T and I met up at Fall Creek Lake, a few miles southwest of Eugene, with her dad and her good friend M. We had fun doing her senior photos on the boat, around the lake and I even got a few shots of T on her board! My favorite senior shot of the year (see the last photo in this post)!!!

Family photography, Eugene Oregon

This trail you see in the first couple of photos is literally just a few feet away from this family's house in south Eugene. We had a lovely walk in the woods. The weather couldn't have been any better - overcast with pleasant temperature. The children - ages 8, 6 and almost 4 - did a wonderful job! All in all, we had a great session:

Our 15-minute photo session at the Oregon coast

This was my birthday wish; Spend a few days at the coast and do a few family photos. The first part of my wish really came true and our stay at the coast, as always, was wonderful. The second part, well, was quite a bit harder to say the least...

For a successful family photo session, you have to start with planning your outfits, right? I decided to do light color tops and bottoms. The children were no problem. The adults, no so much so. My dad had no "light" top. Fine dark blue it is. My mom came out with a red top on. I said, "Please change!" Sean's mom put on a black vest and I just didn't care anymore at that point.

So out we go in the back of the house where the view is beautiful right on the beach by the ocean. It's late afternoon, the sun still way up. Everyone is squinting like crazy. My dad can't even keep his eyes open. Lea starts crying that it's "too blight" (she's still working on her "r" sounds).

Anyway, so we go to the front yard and try to take some photos in the garage. At this point Lea is crying her little eyes out and nobody knows why and she won't tell you. The light in the garage is really good, the background - 2 cars parked in there - not good. So we move to the side of the house, shingles, flower pots, outdoor faucets and all thinking I'll deal with it later in my computer. Big mistake. Every photo has my dad with a faucet coming out of his head. Every photo of me and the kids has a huge orange flower pot. There is no way I can do anything about that in my computer! (I tried... but at least I was able to fix the faucet.)

But we shoot anyway. At this point the kids are pretty grumpy. Mind you, we are about 10 minutes into the "session." Grandma Rita makes the best silly faces while Sean is trying to capture a photo of me and the kids. We laugh so hard my eyes are completely watered and my face is so red that I look like a red beet. We continue for another few minutes. Alesh all of a sudden proclaims that he's "done" and he's going to ride his bike. There is absolutely no stopping him. The session is officially over. Phew!

And that's why my children have hardly any good pictures of themselves in their albums...

Guess where we shot this family session!

We started in Autzen stadium, then we climbed up the bleachers and finished in the park! The girls (2- and 5- years old) had a great time running around and exploring and I was able to capture some sweet moments!

Big kids, big fun!

I love photographing all ages. I value each stage in life and strive to showcase what makes that moment in time unique to all my subjects. You may know by now that my ultimate favorite age is 2 years followed closely by 5 days and then very closely by tweens! Tweens are are so much fun. I love getting to know them and the people they are becoming.

These two children were no exceptions. L is a wonderful ballerina, currently spending summer with Huston Ballet and her brother A is an avid soccer player. They were such good troopers during our cold morning together.

Photography twins, Eugene, OR

This was an exciting session for me! Full of life and movement. These precious twins recently learned how to walk and they were getting better by the minute! And let me tell you, they might not be very sturdy on their little feet, but boy are they fast! Beautiful children!

Session done on location in Veneta, OR with natural light only.

4-year old J

J is an amazing little girl. When I first met her, I thought how cute and shy she was. A few minutes into our session she relaxed and her sparkle ignited! What fun I had hanging out with her! At the end as I was packing up to go she came up to me and said, "I like you Livia." Aw, wouldn't that just melt your heart? It sure did mine!

BTW, J will soon be a big sister to twin brothers! She is so exited and can't wait to meet them!

All images shot with natural light in J's backyard (even the last one).

Beach family session at the Heceta Lighthouse

I met up with this wonderful family at Heceta Lighthouse. We played on the beach, threw rocks in the stream and then headed up the trail to the light house. On the way up, we spotted a fuzzy little caterpillar. 3-year old K (it was her birthday that day) was so excited! She played with Charlie and then put him up on a leaf for him to go "night-night" and we continued up the trail to the lighthouse keeper's house. On the way back, to K's delight, Charlie was still there waiting for her. It was so much fun to see the joy K's eyes when she spotted Charlie!

Photography of newborn baby girl - 3 and 7 days old

Little C is my youngest newborn ever! She was only 3 days old at the time of her first session. And because her mommy's milk has not quite came in, she had a huge need to nurse all the time. We did end up with a lot of nice images but I also came back when she was exactly 7 days. What a happy content baby she was with her belly nice and full! The images below are a mixture of little C at 3 and 7 days of age in no particular order.

Maternity photography, Eugene, Oregon

Little Emma is due just about any time now. I had the pleasure to photograph her beautiful pregnant mommy for whom, if you can believe it, this is a third pregnancy! She is just gorgeous and that pretty belly look really good on her!
